The New Englander Tavern is a lively, 77-capacity neighborhood pub serving cold bottled beers, classic drinks, and a streamlined menu of fried foods, nachos, and warm pretzels. We’re looking for an energetic, high-hustle teammate to support our bartenders and run hot appetizers from the kitchen window to our guests.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the Kitchen Window: Run hot fried foods, nachos, and pretzels to tables with the right sauces and napkins.
  • Keep the Bar Loaded: Keep reach-in coolers stocked with bottled beer.
  • Maintain the Flow: Bus tables, wash glassware, empty glass recycling bins, and help keep the pub clean.
  • Prep the Shift: Slice lemons, limes, and oranges and set up service stations.
  • Keep It Cold: Run fresh ice from the kitchen ice maker to the bar ice bins.
  • No Draft: Keep our all-bottle beer inventory cold, stacked, and ready.

Commercial Fry Cook

We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Commercial Fry Cook to take ownership of our streamlined back-of-house kitchen line. Our hot appetizer menu centers on fried foods, nachos, and warm pretzels, with a strong focus on food safety, allergen control, speed, consistency, and station cleanliness.

What You’ll Do

  • Operate the Line: Prepare hot orders efficiently while maintaining consistent cook times and quality.
  • Strict Fryer Separation: Keep our three commercial fryers separated for seafood, poultry, and sides/allergen-safe items.
  • Prioritize Food Safety: Follow frequent handwashing and safe handling procedures when changing tasks or handling raw products.
  • Assemble & Plate: Prepare nachos and pretzels and package fried items consistently in disposable paper tubs with liners.
  • Own the Kitchen Station: Sanitize prep tables, skim fryer oil during the shift, and complete end-of-night kitchen cleaning.

Experienced Bartender

The New Englander Tavern is a high-energy, 77-capacity neighborhood pub serving ice-cold bottled beer, quality cocktails, and a fun, welcoming atmosphere. We’re looking for an experienced, outgoing Bartender to take ownership of the bar, build relationships with our regulars, and keep the drinks flowing. We do not have draft beer. All beer is bottled and served in frosted beer glasses.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide Excellent Service: Greet guests promptly, engage with customers, take accurate orders, and make knowledgeable drink recommendations.
  • Serve Bottled Beer: All beer is bottled—there are no draft beer taps. Serve bottled beer properly in our frosted beer glasses.
  • Craft Drinks: Prepare cocktails and mixed drinks accurately and efficiently while following established recipes.
  • Own Your Bar: Keep the bar stocked, organized, clean, and ready for service. Monitor inventory and communicate low-stock items to management.
  • Work Fast & Stay Accurate: Handle multiple guests and orders during busy periods without sacrificing accuracy or customer service.
  • Operate the POS: Enter orders accurately, process payments, and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
  • Maintain a Clean & Sanitary Bar: Follow strict cleaning and sanitation procedures, including frequent handwashing and proper handling of glassware, bottles, food, and bar equipment.
  • Responsible Alcohol Service: Follow all applicable laws and company policies regarding alcohol service and check identification when required.
  • Team Up with the Staff: Work closely with servers, barbacks, kitchen staff, and management to keep service running smoothly.
